As part of the Festival Histoire et Cité, the Geneva Water Hub and the University of Geneva UNESCO Chaire in hydropolitics are organizing this roundtable.

What is the use of water in the construction of a nationalistic story? The aim is to unravel and better understand the symbolic dimension of water in a specific geopolitical context and to understand how this resource enables to build a collective imaginery. This will be illustrated by examples drawn from history and current events.
