The Geneva Water Hub offers a fully-credited interactive e-learning course on International Water Law, designed for professionals involved in negotiating or implementing treaties related to freshwater resources.

Our fully-credited interactive e-learning course equips professionals engaged in negotiating or implementing treaties related to freshwater resources with essential knowledge of the principles and norms governing their use, sharing, management, and protection. 

Tailored for full-time professionals, the course comprises six thematic modules, offering a comprehensive exploration of sustainable and peaceful transboundary water management. Participants delve into key topics such as the sharing of surface and ground waters, environmental protection, the right to water and sanitation, water during armed conflicts, water and economic law, as well as the prevention and settlement of water disputes. 

The course offers flexibility, allowing participants to access content and learning materials at their convenience. Additionally, synchronous group activities, including webinars and live Q&A videoconferences, provide opportunities for real-time interaction and engagement as per the course outline. 

The International Water Law Online Course is available in English over 9 weeks (awarding 4 ECTS credits) and in French over 6 weeks (awarding 2 ECTS credits).
