Tailor-Made Course for UNDP Iraq

Education and Training Tailor-Made Courses (online and classroom)
The Geneva Water Hub and UNDP Iraq developed an e-learning program for Iraqi officials on international water law, diplomacy, and negotiation, considering the SDGs and Iraq's accession to the 1992 UNECE Convention.

In collaboration with UNDP Iraq, the Geneva Water Hub developed and executed a specialized e-learning training program tailored for government officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and other key Iraqi national agencies.

The comprehensive course aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in international water law, diplomacy, and negotiation, contextualized within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Iraq's accession to the 1992 UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes. It also delved into relevant international case-law and examined the legal frameworks governing the vital Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

Our training program featured 15 live lectures delivered by globally recognized experts in international water law and negotiations. Additionally, participants engaged in a live workshop focused on practical negotiation techniques and the application of international water law in real-world scenarios.
